Erika Alfaro began working in the Public Health field in 2012 as an intern for Planned Parenthood's Middle School-Based Program. In 2016, she joined APLA Health as a Linkage to Care Case Manager for HIV positive Latino men who have sex with men (MSM). Prior to joining APLA Health, Ms. Alfaro was a health educator for a federally qualified health center, where she facilitated health education workshops about sexual and reproductive health to communities throughout Los Angeles County.
Ms. Alfaro received her Master's in Public Health with an emphasis in Community Health from California State University, Northridge. She is currently the CBA Advisor, Housing and is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the Housing Specialist Certification Program for Housing Specialists that work with the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) program. Ms. Alfaro is also responsible for providing technical assistance to health department nationwide.
