The goals of this workshop are to increase participants’ knowledge on social network recruitment and to offer practical experience on using social networks as a tool to recruit high-risk populations into HIV prevention programs. Years of social and community research have shown that social network recruitment works well with a range of ethnically diverse clients and behavioral risk groups. This workshop presents supporting research and links the relevance of social networks as recruitment to the goals of participating agencies. It includes hands-on practice, learning the specific characteristics and phases of a social network recruitment strategy and training seeds and network associates.
