This workshop increases the participant’s knowledge and understanding of cultural competence through lecture and practical exercises. By the end of this training, participants will be able to describe the elements necessary for the effective provision of culturally competent HIV prevention services and explain how cultural competence addresses the inequity in access to health care and prevention. It also covers distinguishing the key concepts that affect effective implementation of cultural competence in HIV prevention and formulating culturally competent HIV prevention services.
